Christmas 2010 is set to be a very exciting time for gamers, and especially for those of us who play our games on the Xbox 360 gaming console. In addition to some excellent new releases in long running games franchises that have been eagerly anticipated by xbox fans, there is also the new ‘kinect’ system which opens up a whole new world of physical gaming to people who buy it.

The Kinect is basically a high quality camera that can record all of your movements and then create a virutal you inside the game which you control with your own physical movements. There are some great looking games out for christmas 2010 that take advantage of this functionality and tread on ground previously held solely by the wii. I mention the Kinect because as it isn’t out till November I can’t really rate the Kinect games very well now, although tyhere are some on pre-release that you can take a look at if you search around, so I will just say that at the top of many people’s list of the best games for christmas 2010 will be anything that uses the new functionality of the Kinect. And then I will move on to give you mypick of the top three regular non kinect titles out just in time for christmas this year:

Halo Reach: This is the biggie and will probably be the best seller of the festive season on the XBox 360. It is an SF shooter game, and serves as a prequel to the previously releases Halo titles in which you get to go back to the battle for mars and the events that are there as legends in the storylines of the other Halo games.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops: Cold war era special commando shooting game. Out on the PS3 as well, and set to be one of the top games across all platforms.
EA Sports Games – EA Sports have released, or are just about to release, a whole load of sports games for this year. You can tell the new ones because they are all number 11 and they do look good. The best one for you is probably the one corresponding to the sport you like best in real life so that is why I haven’t picked out a single game to mention.
